Toothed gearing. - In toothed gearing with the shafts carried in ball or roller bearings, at least one bearing d, is made adjustable to ensure correct tooth mesh by supporting the bearing in an eccentric ring f, which may be integral with the bearing cap g, the ring engaging a corresponding opening in the casing. Two interengaging complementary eccentric rings may be used, in which case straight line adjustment is possible. The adjustment is preferably provided on that side of the wheel where there is no clutch or coupling, as in such a situation a smaller bearing is employed; the two bearing openings in the casing can thus be of equal or approximately equal diameters.
