[Class 12 (i)] Noise reduction in machines is effected by mounting the shaft bearings in a surrounding member of elastic material. The bearing 3 is mounted in a block 2 of elastic material forced into a hole in the machine frame 1. This mounting is also applied to footstep and plain cylindrical journal bearings.
