Abstract

238,894. Lemasson, R. P. F., and Martin, E. H. Aug. 22, 1924, [Convention date]. Valves, arrangement of.- A rotary sleeve valve 3 for internal-combustion engines, pumps, &c, is fitted with arcshaped packing-plates 15 which are pressed outwards againet the cylinder by springs 16, and also with packing rings 17. Similar packing-plates 8 pressed by springs 9 are arranged in depending portions 29 of the cylinder head 2, which is further provided with packing-rings 10. The valve also has a slight reciprocating movement which has a grinding effect on the packing- members.
