Abstract

284,160. Christiansen, J. P. E. R. Aug. 16, 1927. Stuffing - boxes, substitutes for.-A stuffing-box substitute for the spindle of a fuel injection valve comprises a diaphragm 6 and a piston 7 mounted above it. The diaphragm is clamped to the valve casing between rings 8, 9 and is secured to the .spindle 1 by nuts 4, 7, the latter constituting a piston which moves in a cylinder formed by the ring 9. The top of the casing is open to the atmosphere through holes 15.
