Abstract

238,434. Le Grain, R. L. G. Dec. 6, 1924. Spray carburettors.-In a carburetting-apparatus of the kind comprising a carburettor A for the production of a rich mixture connected by a long conduit E to a secondary air inlet device B provided with a throttle valve D which is connected to a valve J controlling the rich mixture, an independentlyoperable device is provided for altimetric regulation. The altimetric regulation may be effected by providing means for independently operating the valve J, in which case a spring- returned arm J<2> is keyed to the spindle j of the valve J, the arm J<2> being operated in conjunction with the throttle D through an abutment j<1> on an arm J<1> loosely mounted on the spindle j, and independently operated by a. rod L. In an alternative construction, the arm J<1> is rigidly secured to the spindle j, the arm J<2> being dispensed with, and the altimetric regulation iseffected by an air-controlling valve M situated in a conduit N arranged in the outlet B<1> of the conduit. E. The carburettor A is provided with a submerged fuel controlling restriction F situated at the base of a nozzle H to which air is admitted from the inlet G through passages f<2>, f. The conduit E may be heated, e.g. by circulating the cooling water in a jacket E<1>.
