Abstract

238,128. Marcesche, E. C. May 1, 1924. Air, gas, and steam pressure sprayers. - An atomizing apparatus comprises a conical member 10, Fig. 1, through which liquid supplied at 8 is sprayed by steam passed through a nozzle 1 regulated by a needle valve 3, and an oppositelyinclined conical member 21 forming the injection core of an auxiliary gaseous current. The auxiliary current consists of steam and air, the steam being the exhaust from a turbine 15 which carries a fan 20 for producing the air current. The apparatus may be disposed as shown in Fig. 2 on a mixing apparatus supplied with steam at 29, and with pulverized coal and pitch by an elevator 27, and used for the production of agglomerate masses by the process described in Specification 237,959.
