Abstract

Spray carburettors.- A fuel-feed valve casing c and an air inlet valve casing a are arranged alongside. each other and are connected by means of an injector member b, l, Fig. 4. The air valve casing has an inlet slot d leading to a conical seat e with which a conical air valve f cooperates. This valve is loaded by a spring i and actuated by a lever h and slides over the part b of the injector member which receives fuel through the lateral arm l and orifice m. A screwed bush k permits of the air supply for slow running being adjusted. The fuel issuing at m is sprayed by air entering the end g of the hollow air valve spindle. The fuel valve n bears through a rod o on a piston p actuated by suction through a duct q and exposed to the atmosphere through ports r, the lift of the piston and valve being limited by a lever s actuated from the air valve f through a pin wand adjustable strip u. The strip is adjusted by a screw v, and another screw y serves to adjust the lever s and the fuel valve for running light. A spring x holds the strip u in contact with the pin w.
