Spray carburettors.-The fuel nozzle opens into a mixing-chamber supplied with hot exhaust gases, air being added to the mixture through a suction-operated valve which also controls the supply of fuel to the mixing-chamber. As shown in Fig. 1, the fuel nozzle 22 is situated in a mixing-chamber 23 supplied with exhaust gases through a pipe 11, the outlet 33 of the mixing- chamber communicating through a conduit 34 with a chamber 10 to which air is admitted through a suction-actuated valve 17 loaded by a spring 20. The valve 17 is connected through an arm 28 and lever 27 to a valve 26 controlling, the passage of fuel from the float chamber 8 to the nozzle. The pivot 29 of the lever 27 is adjustable, its position being controlled by a manuallyoperated lever 32 which may also be used to lift the fuel valve 26. Light or heavy fuel, according to the setting of a valve 47, is supplied to the float chamber through a valve 13 operated by a ficat 16. In a modification, the mixing-chamber passes through the float chamber.
