Closure members, rotary conical; leakage, preventing.-A plug cock has its actuating spindle loosely connected to the plug, and provided with packing, and the plug is held in its seating by the pressure of the liquid and a light spring. The upper end of the plug is provided with passages 7, 8, and the lower end with a passage 9 communicating with the supply passage 5, so that there is a resultant downward pressure on the plug. The spindle 10 has a flange 11 with studs 12 loosely engaging the plug, and a gland 13 enclosing packing 15 is held in position by a ring 14. Pressure is exerted on the packing by a ring 16, and a light spring 17 keeps the plug on its seating when not in use. The cock may be used in connection with a pump supplying two containers alternately, one being filled while the other is discharging. The ports 2<1> and 2<11> communicate with the two containers.
