Abstract

205,696. Farr, J. J. W. Oct. 26, 1922. Rotary disc, spherical, and like valves; preventing.-The passage-way through a liquid delivery tap is closed by a transverse partition, and the flow from one side of the partition to the other through ports in the side walls is controlled by a rotary disc or like valve. The body 1 is provided with ports 5, 6 on either side of a partition 7, opening into a recess 4 containing a rotary disc valve 8. The valve is pressed to its seat by a spring 9, the pressure being adjustable bv means of a screwed cap 10. The port 5 is circular and the port 6 elongated as shown in Fig. 3. A leakage discharge port is provided in the wall of the recess 4, and a splash-preventing device 16 in the outlet. The Provisional Specification also states that the closure surfaces may be curved instead of plane.
