258,496. Anthony, E., and Crane, W. March 26, 1926. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Valves or cocks fitted with independentlyactuated supplementary valves.-In valves or taps having a supplementary plug cock mounted integrally in the casing, as in Specification 3708/06, for cutting off the supply when a new washer is to be fitted, the plug b, Fig. 3, is formed with a short, cylindrical stem which projects through the centre of a screwed cap a, Figs. 1 and 3, so as to lie flush with the outer face thereof, the outer end of the stem being provided with a groove d to receive a screw-driver for operation. A packing-washer c, compressed by the screwed cap a, makes a tight joint between the plug b and the casing. The cap a is slackened back before the plug is turned.
