Vehicle lamps; lighting, systems of. - A vehicle lamp comprises a casing d in the front portion of which is a horizontal compartment f and in the rear portion of which is a downwardly - inclined compartment g, the two compartments containing reflectors h, i, electric lamp bulbs j, k, and lenses or like glass fronts l, m, respectively. This dual lamp may be used as a headlamp, in which case the bulb h is lit and projects a beam of light rearwardly and downwardly alongside the vehicle when the forwardly projected beam of light from the bulb j is reduced in intensity by bringing a resistance into its circuit. Alternatively this dual lamp may be used as a side lamp c, Fig. 6, in which case the bulbs j, h are lit when the ordinary headlamp b is extinguished.
