Abstract

Cleansing-compositions are obtained by mixing an alkaline solution with a solution of resin and fatty acid in a chlorhydrocarbon. Hydroxy bodies such as cresol or other phenol and alcohols may be added. In an example, a transparent or translucent emulsion is obtained by stirring 2 gallons of a 1 per cent solution of sodium carbonate with 1 lb. of a solution of 1 lb. of resin and 0.45 lb. of oleic acid in 5 lb. of trichlorethylene. Specification 109,846 is referred to. The Provisional Specification describes the use of paraffin oil, tetrahydronaphthalene, and turpentine in place of chlorhydrocarbon.
