Magneto-electric machines; field magnets, dampers on poles of.-In magneto-electric machines having rotating permanent magnets, the magnets a are arranged transversely to the axis of their rotation and are provided with laminated pole-pieces c threaded on dowel-pins d engaging end discs e, the driving-spindle b passing through the end discs and magnets and securing the parts together, leaving a clear space in the region of the axis of rotation. The rotor may be built up in units comprising magnets, polepieces and end discs constructed and mounted as above. Copper damping bars q are provided, and these may serve to clamp the rotating elements together. The stator laminations j may be threaded on tubular dowel-pins k through which the clamping-bolts m pass. Specifications 120,897 and 194,822 are referred to.
