Abstract
234,280. Stevenson, G. May 22, 1924. Boats.-A toy boat is fitted with a fin or keel 1 so shaped as to bring the centre of lateral pressure forward, and with a pair of tow lines 10, 11 whereby the boat may be manoeuvred while being towed from the shore. The keel may be detachable so as to be revened for ordinary sailing, and a detachable weight may be attached by means of a slot 6. In a modification, the keel is fitted with a separate forward portion 22, Fig. 5, which may be pivoted and limited in its movements by stop pins 33<c> formed on a slider 33, a single coil 10<a> being attached to a pivoted member 30 having wings 32, one or other of which engages the rear part of the keel portion 22. The cord is provided with a weight 34 so as to pass through the gap when slackened, and the part 22 may be fixed by moving the slider forward to bring a cross-piece 33b into engagement therewith.
