Abstract
233,246. Marks, E. C. R., (Ansaldo Soc. Anon.). Oct. 30, 1924. Valves.-Automatic valves for controlling the admission of scavenging-air to the piston-controlled ports 11 of a two-stroke Diesel engine comprise a series of steel strips 2 pressed on to a grid-like valve seating 1 by springs 3. The lift of the valves is limited by a grid 4, and inclined surfaces 5 are provided to prevent interference between air streams flowing through adjacent ports. The strips are formed with recesses at their ends sliding upon guide pins.
