Abstract

229,627. Kieswetter, J. Feb. 19, 1924, [Convention date]. Addition to 219,023. Casings.-In means for connecting a partition 'or diaphragm to a turbine casing so as to permit differential heat expansion of the parts, as described in the parent Specification, a flexible ring 30, arranged between the diaphragm 2 and the casing 1, has circumferentially offset bearing surfaces 31, 32 on its outer and inner walls. Alternatively, these projections 31, 32 may be formed on the casing and the diaphragm; or pins may be inserted in recesses in these parts. Specification 216,737 is referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also a modification, Figs. 5, 8 and 9 (Cancelled), wherein the ring 50 has, in addition to offset bearing surfaces 51, 52 which permit radial yielding, offset bearing surfaces 53, 54 at the sides which permit axial yielding of the ring. These surfaces 51 - - 54 may alternatively be formed on the casing and the diaphragm. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
