Dust &c., excluding. - In a centrifugal pulverizer for coal &c. a pedestal 13 of the shaft 12 on which a pulverizing-element is mounted carries a bearing-box 40 mounted in a spherical seat 41. Leakage of oil along the shaft is prevented by doubly flanged collars 45 on the shaft and co-operating collars 46 on the pedestal. Holes 48 drain the inner grooves 47 of the collars 46 back into the interior of the pedestal. Connections 49 may be provided for the circulation of a cooling-medium through the pedestal 13.
