Abstract

225,245. British Thomson-Houston Co., Ltd., (Assignees of Doran, J. H.). Nov. 23, 1923, [Convention date]. Casings.-An interstage diaphragm 9 is supported in the casing, so as to be free to expand radially and maintain its concentricity, by a ring 13. The ring and diaphragm are kept .concentric with one another by a number of radial pins. 19 and are machined on the periphery together after assembly. Radial clearance is provided at 17 to permit the diaphragm to expand relatively to the ring. The ring and diaphragm are divided diametrically and are introduced into the casing by a rotational movement. Quadrantal pieces 22 which taper in a circumferential direction as shown by the line 24 are introduced to lock the ring in place, against the casing.
