Abstract
609,220. Turbine blades. SOC. RATEAU. Nov. 2, 1945, No. 29176. Convention date, Dec. 5, 1944. [Class 110 (iii)] In a mounting for the stationary blades of a turbine or like machine of the type comprising an internal and an external ring mounted coaxially with the rotor between which are mounted the stationary blades, the external ring is mounted in a circular groove in the stator with peripheral clearance to allow for radial expansion and means are provided for centering this ring with respect to the rotor ; the blades are securely attached to one of the rings and are free to expand with reference to the other ring. Figs. 4 and 5 show radial sections in two axial planes through a diaphragm in which the stationary blades c1 provided with end-pieces f1, g1 are mounted between two ring members i1 and m. The inner end pieces g1 of the blades are secured by rivets to the inner ring member m and the outer end pieces f1 which are free with respect to one another engage the outer ring member i1 in which they are centered by a number of pins o. In order to allow for expansion, the ring member i1 is mounted in a groove in the stator h with peripheral clearance and is located therein by means of radial pins p.
