228,250. Ruddock, T. J. Oct. 30, 1923. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Exhaust-silencers.- A silencer comprises an inlet pipe 1, with perforations 13, surrounded by a perforated member 6 and an outer casing A, and an air-inlet pipe 9 extending into the outlet 11 from the casing A. The pipe 1 is held in place by a bolt 2 and nut 4 and a collar 5 around the pipe 1 has projections 8 engaged by slots in the member 6. The inlet to the air pipe 9 consists of a flared aperture 10 in the end cap 12 of the silencer.
