227,442. Dessenne, A. P. Jan. 10, 1924, [Convention date]. Spigot and - socket overlap joints held by cement and the like.- In spigot-and-socket joints for water, gas, air, &c. pipes, the lead a which is run in to complete the joint, is held in place by a dovetail groove b on the female portion c of the joint and a series of circumferential grooves d on the male portion e. The inner end of the member e is provided with a flange f, between which and the lead tarred string g is interposed. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 1540/84, 6835/03, and 17647/04.
