Abstract

225,736. Crowle, A. O. Feb. 6, 1924. Moving - chamber apparatus. -Relates to apparatus of the type in which a predetermined quantity of material is released from a supply container into a detachable receptacle and consists in a construction whereby the material falls through a restricted base area into a spring retained receptacle the supply container being sealed, when the receptacle is withdrawn, by a spring-controlled shutter operated by the receptacle. The container A has a hopper-shaped lower part B leading to a receiving section C which contains a scoop D held in place by a spring catch H. Bearing against the inclined edges of the scoop is a spring shutter E which serves to close the bottom of the container A when the scoop is withdrawn. The replacing of the scoop forces the shutter back against the spring.
