Feeding articles frorn hoppers.-In an apparatus for automatically sorting articles, such as golf-ball centres, according to their weight, the golf-ball centres contained in a rotating hopper 10 roll into recesses 42 therein and are carried round by the hopper and emptied into a shoot 12. A radial-armed sweep, 15, rotating intermittently, receives the balls from the shoot and pushes them one by one, first into and then off, the pan 16 of a weighing device 88.
