Abstract

225,357. Oxley, M. K. Rice-. Nov. 8, 1923. Double-door fastenings. - Double-door fastenings, comprising an anti-friction member associated with one door and a lever operated by an antifriction device associated with the other door so that closing the second door locks the first door, are adapted to operate without the aid of springs. A plate 1 is secured to the lintel and has two sockets 2, 2a each containing a ball 4, 4<a>. A lever 5 pivoted to the post 7 at 6 rests on the balls, and works in slots 8, 8<a> in the sockets. When the first door 9 is closed, the ball 4a drops into a recess 11 in a plate 10 on the top of the door. When the other door 13 is closed, its bevelled plate 14 lifts the ball 4 and tilts the lever 5 so that it holds the ball 4a securely in the recess 11, preventing release of the door 9.
