Abstract
25,258. Barlow, F. Nov. 4. Lift cages and doors, locking and unlocking.- Comprises a combined door lock and circuitbreaker for an electric lift. The lock casing c carries a sliding bolt d, terminals g, and a switch-lever e with elastic contact fingers f. The catch on the gate passes through a slot in the bolt when the latter is in its lowest position. An arm of the lever e and an arm k of a bolt-releasing lever l engage slots in the bolt. A pin h is passed loosely through a hole in the catch j. When the cage arrives at a floor, a striker m on the cage is released by the de-energization of a solenoid o, or by hand, and engages a roller on the arm l, whereupon the arm k draws the bolt down, the lug d<2> engaging the lever e to break contact and also causing the pin h to enter within the catch. On closing the gate and operating the push-button, the solenoid is energized and the bolt is moved upwards, the lug d<3> engaging under the catch and also forcing the pin h up to move the lever e to the contact position. In applying the invention to a hinged door, the catch enters through the front of the casing as in Fig. 5.
