The roller - arm 7 is mounted on a shaft carrying a stepped stop 6 engaging the lock-bolt 1. The bolt has aT-head 9 which engages a slide 10 carrying the contacts 8<a> of a control switch 8 and is engaged by a pivoted detent 17 which prevents closure of the switch when the beak 3 is with. drawn, and at the same time engages the bolthead 9 to hold it open. When the gate is closed, the beak engages and moves. the detent so as to free the lock-bolt and switch.
