Master control sys - tems; controllers, actuating. - In controlling direct current motors for vehicles by a step-bystep drum controller operated by an auxiliary motor through a master controller and a set of follow-up contacts on the main drum, the control contacts are arranged so that return movements of the drum have the effect of breaking and remaking the main motor circuit, whereby successive working pasitions can be reached in reverse order without passing through zero. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 1, two motors M<1>, M<2> supplied through a main switch T are connected to a rheostatic series-parallel drum controller SS operated by an auxiliary motor A through a master controller MK, reversing contactors WS, and a set of follow-up main drum contacts SW. The auxiliary motor A may be electric or pneumatic.
