Abstract

211,705. Zweigbergk, T. Feb. 22, 1923. Master control systems; control systems.- Motor control systems of the follow-up kind described in Specification 175,877 are adapted for multiple - unit control by associating each unit secondary or follow up controller with a set of relays solely responsive to current passing between the primary or master controller and the particular secondary controller of the respective unit. The Figure shows two secondary controllers 51, 57 operated respectively by auxiliary motors 88, 89 in such a manner as to repeat the movements of a single master controller 92. The conductors 46 - - 50 which connect, for example the secondary controller 51 to the train-wires 41 - - 45 pass through normally open switches 68 - - 72 adapted to be closed bv the energization of relay coils 58 - - 62. When the master controller is turned to any position, the corresponding relay coil is energized to complete a circuit through the coil of the motor - starting and stopping relay 90. The motor 88 runs until the follow-up movement has been accomplished, whereupon the coil of the relay 90 is cut out. The conductors 52 - - 56 leading to the secondary controller 57 are similarly arranged. In systems with a number of secondary controllers, one of these may be arranged for direct connections without relays, and one or more of the relays may be omitted from the set associated with a particular controller.
