Abstract

222,247. Bullimore, W. R. July 17, 1923. Vacuum tubes.-A fuse element forms part of the circuit between a valve contact pin and the electrode or electrodes through which low tension current is passed. As shown, the fuse consists of a vitreous tube 8 with metal end caps 9 having spring clips 7, 6 secured respectively to a short pin 4 connected with one end of the filament, and to a contact pin 5 which is screwed into an ebonite tube 3 mounted on the pin 4. The fuse is renewable. In a modification, the base of the valve is provided with a socket receiving the fuse, which may be retained by a spring; or the fuse may be mounted within the bulb or may form a permanent part of a contact pin, which is renewable as a whole.
