Abstract
219,979. Naamlooze Vennootschap Philips' Gloeilampenfabrieken. Aug. 2, 1923, [Convention date]. Addition to 217,220. Vacuum tubes.-In valve pins described in the parent Specification, the leading-in wires 39 are secured in contact with the pins 32 by a metal member preferably a ring 36, surrounding the pin and having a hole 37 in which the wire, after passing through a corresponding hole 38 in the insulating base, is secured by solder. Preferably the hole in the ring breaks into its central aperture so that the securing solder also establishes direct contact with the pin. The metal member may be embedded in the insulating material of the base which may be the cap of a " receiving tube " for wireless telegraphy &c. The ring may have a small flange 45 to improve its attachment to the insulating material and the hole 37 may be inclined so as to break into the ring at the lower end only. The pins described in the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) have roughened ends 35, Fig. 1 (Cancelled), embedded in the insulating material. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
