Abstract

497,627. Electric incandescent lamps. BIRDSEYE ELECTRIC CORPORATION. Nov. 23, 1937, No. 32222. Convention date, Dec. 4, 1936. [Class 39 (ii)] A filament mount is provided with a metallic reflecting-disc 21 which is supported above the stem 14 and apertured for the passage of leading-in wires 18 and filament supports 19, an insulating-panel 22 with an aperture registering with that of the metal disc being provided to locate the wires correctly and insulate them from the metal disc. The insulating-panel may be riveted on the underside of the metal disc, and may be provided with a separate aperture for each wire. The reflecting-disc and insulating-panel are supported by a wire 23 the lower end of which is embedded in the pinch 16. Glass tubes 24, which may be fused to the pinch 16, may be provided as insulation around one or more of the filament-supporting wires 19, and give additional support to the reflecting-disc. The insulating-panel may be made of mica, lava, or similar material. In the example the bulb 10 has a reflecting-coating 12 of silver or the like covering the area from the neck to the line of maximum diameter.
