Abstract

Shuttles, changing weft carriers in automatically.-When weft-replenishment is to occur, a link 12 controlled by the weft fork mechanism or the weft feeler mechanism moves a part 10 into the path of a cam 2 on the bottom shaft, whereby a lever 8 is depressed against spring action and a block 13 thereon turns a bell crank lever 23 connected through a part 22 furnished with a spring-loaded piston to a lever 20<1>, 20. This lever is connected to a supply carriage 19 whereby a spool is carried from the magazine into position beneath a transferring hammer 25 adjustably carried by a link 14 having a pin and slot connection with the lever 8. The cam 2 has a part 3 of increasing eccentricity preferably followed by a projection 4 whereby a sudden downward movement may be given to the link 14 and hammer 25 to force a fresh spool into the shuttle.
