Abstract
Zinc compounds containing chlorine are treated in solution or suspension with lime and carbonic acid so as to obtain a partial or complete conversion into carbonate which after washing is free from chlorine. The process may be applied to the treatment of zinc chloride solution or of a suspension of sal ammoniac skimmings from galvanizing.
