Abstract
In the treatment of complex sulphide ores in which the ore is treated so as to chloridize the lead and silver but not the zinc, for instance by heating with zinc chloride with exclusion of air, the product, after first washing with acidulated water if desired to remove excess of zinc chloride, is leached with cold brine acidulated with hydrochloric acid (and saturated with lead chloride if desired) to extract the silver, and then with hot neutral brine to extract the lead.
