Abstract

218,577. Ball, W. H. Jan. 3, 1924. Tricycles; collapsable cycles; direct-action velocipedes.-In folding or collapsable cycles &c. of the kind provided with a frame comprising two upwardly extending members pivotally connected together and having a folding strut, one part 8 of the pivoted strut 8, 9 is extended as shown at 11 to form a lever for operating the strut, and the end of the lever frictionally engages with a recess in a bar 12 when the frame is in the open position. A spring clip or other means may be provided for engaging the lever 11 when the cycle is collapsed. The members 3 carry a seat 15 and are connected to a bracket 20 carrying the steering post 21, the seat 15 being extended to the steering post.
