604,250. Cycles and tricycles. TWIGG & CO., Ltd., C., HOLLIS, T. R., and COOKLIN, L. Nov. 24, 1945, No. 31768. [Class 136 (iii)] A cycle or tricycle handlebar of the kind made in halves 1, 2, each of which is pivotally connected to the handlebar stem 8 so as to be adapted to be swung alongside the handlebar stem, has each of the parts 1, 2 secured by parts 4 to a semicylindrical cheek 3 which is pivoted to the stem 8. The coned ends of cheeks 3 are gripped by a sleeve nut 9 screwed on to a part 8<SP>x</SP> of the stem. The handlebar part 1 has a brake lever 11 with swivelling connecting member 13 pivoted at one end to a link 14 and at the other end to a rod 12 so that the brake accompanies the handlebar when it is folded. To fold the handlebar the sleeve nut 9 is unscrewed.
