Abstract

C u p - leather, overlap joints; couplings, disconnectible; swivelling joints. - Relates to improved means for connecting the delivery end of a grease gun to a receiving nipple, and for like purposes involving a detachable fluid-tight connection between a pair of tubular members. The cylindrical nipple a is formed with a lateral aperture b provided with a ball-valve d, while a cylindrical socket member e, attached to the delivery pipe of the grease gun, adapted to be detachably connected therewith, is provided with a pair of cup-leather packings g arranged to form a tight joint with the nipple on opposite sides of the aperture b. In a modification, the socket member e is arranged in line with the delivery pipe of the grease gun, to avoid the necessity for producing a separate swivelling connection between the coupling and the pipe. A tap or cock may be arranged with the coupling or adjacent thereto for controlling the flow of grease.
