Abstract

216,488. Loebell, H. O. May 23, 1923, [Convention date]. Discharging. - In a gas-producer, coke is obtained as a residue and this is discharged through peripheral hoppers 110 each having an opening 112 and through a small opening 114 in the centre. The coke passing through the openings 112 flows on to platforms 116 reciprocated by devices 118 to discharge the coke into a hopper 120 having outlets 126 leading to a chamber 128 with a discharge door 130 at its bottom. Steam on water is admitted by a pipe 122 to cool the coke and the heated steam enters the fuel column to assist in the gas making.
