216,022. Humphreys & Glasgow, Ltd., (Dashiell, P. T.). Aug. 3, 1923. Carburetting. - In the manufacture of carburetted water gas, oil is forced in a finely divided state through a spray 4 into a chamber 1 unobstructed by heatabsorbing material and having heated walls, the radiant heat from which vaporizes the oil spray and causes the residuum to deposit in granular form on the bottom of the chamber, and the gas to be carburetted is passed in the same direction as the oil through the chamber. The walls may be heated externally or internally by the combustion of a mixture of fuel gas and air introduced through inlets 2, 3 respectively. The oil vapour leaves the carburettor through an outlet 5, while the residue deposited is removed through an opening 6 provided with a door.
