Controlling variable-speed gearing; securing levers on shafts.-A control lever b for changespeed gearing is secured to its shaft a so as to permit of a fine positive adjustment by a locking member or washer c having two sets of teeth of different pitch. The lever b fits on a coned part a' of the shaft a and has dogs b<2> on its end face engaging dogs c<2> on the end face of the washer c. The other teeth of the washer are serrations c' which engage like serrations a<2> on the shaft. Adjustment is made by taking the washer off and turning it round to fit the new position in which the lever is to be locked. A lock nut d is provided.
