Abstract
243,519. Cleaver, C. F., and Four Wheel Drive Lorry Co., Ltd. Nov. 21, 1924. Control gear for driving in either direction.-A motor vehicle having mechanism such as change-speed gearing, to be controlled from two points is provided with an operating lever 8 at each of the said points connected to the mechanism-operating shaft 2 through an arm 4 mounted on the shaft and a lever 6 pivoted on the arm. The lever not in use is locked by a catch. In order that the movement of the levers may be similar for the operator, one lever is connected directly by a link 7 to the lever 6, and the other through links 9, 10 and an intermediate lever 11. A pair of levers is employed for each operating shaft 2, and in order that the levers 8 at each controlling point may be similarly arranged "the levers 6, 6<1> are provided with offset arms as shown in Fig. 4 so that each of the links 7, 9, for example, which are connected to one lever 6, is the right hand link for its end of the vehicle.
