Abstract
209,867. Shestopal, N. Oct. 2S, 1922. Oscillating-machines. -In motors of the kind comprising a pivoted beam a, b adapted to be rocked in one direction by gravity and in the other by an electromagnet g controlled by a rolling weight k which runs along the same beam, means operated by the weight are provided to hold the switch of the magnet closed until the movement of the beam releases it. In the construction shown in Fig. 1, the end b of the beam is pulled down by the magnet and is held down by a catch i until the weight rolls down and releases it. The beam is then rocked in tha opposite direction by gravity and the weight rolls back and closes the switch j, l. A spring catch n holds the switch closed until the rising end a of the beam releases it. In the construction shown in Fig. 5, the magnet operates the beam by pulling a rod h<2> which at the end of its movement, releases the catch n which hold the switch blades l<1>, P closed. The switch is closed by the rolling weight striking a rod j.
