Transformers. - The high-voltage winding of a transformer comprises a number of concentric cylindrical portions c, d, f, g, the portion g of highest potential being placed between portions d, f of lower potential. The ends of the cylinders are provided with protecting rings m . . q, of which the rings o, p and q are hollow, as winding cylinders shown, and serve to connect the winding cylinders together. The latter rings also form equi-potential coverings for the spaces between the cylinders. The inner winding cylinder c is earthed at e, and the high-potential lead from the cylinder g is passed out through a tube i, to which a medium-potential terminal may be connected.
