Abstract

Rope grips.-Relates to the detent and tripping mechanism of an overhead trolly a of the kind in which parallel jaws r, r<1> for gripping the hoisting and hauling rope are actuated by an oscillating locking-member h. The rope is anchored to a crank g<1> on the spindle g of the member h, so that the weight of the load' pulls the member h towards the left. The member h is connected with the rope grip by a link t, and in moving to the left closes the grip. In the position shown the member h is held in the right-hand position, with the ropa grip released, by a detent j, which is provided with lugs bearing against the shoulders h', Fig 6. When the load is raised up to the trolly a, a tripping-lever k' pivoted at l is engaged and raised so as to lift the detent in guides in the trolly, releasing the member h and closing the rope grip for traversing. When the trolly is run back again, the member l engages a stop-block p<1> on the track and is moved over to the right, releasing the rope grip and allowing the detent j to drop into the locking position.
