Abstract
118,643. White, J. W. Jan. 4, 1917. Rope grips.-In aerial ropeways in which a load 1 supported on a fixed rope 5 has gripping-jaws 7, 8 adapted to engage a movable haulage rope 6 at will, the jaws are formed with interlocking- fingers 12, 13, Fig. 2, which prevent disengagement of the rope when the grip is temporarily slackened. The grip is maintained by a weight 10, which may be a collar from which the bucket 1 is suspended, and is released by the engagement of rollers 11 on the collar with rails.
