Abstract

205,335. Edkins, W. J. Oct. 11, 1922. Press-button fasteners.- The spring stud 1 of a press-button fastener is secured to the material 8 by fitting its arms 2 over a collar 6 integral with the tubular attachment shank 7, the collar 6 being preferably held in place by an integral or separate baseplate 4, the outer edge 5 of which is closed over the outwardly bent lugs 3 of the arms 2. In the construction, Fig. 2, the baseplate 4 is formed integral with the shank 7 so that it extends in a plane at right-angles thereto, the outer portion of the plate being then set down so as to leave the upstanding collar 6, whilst in the modification in which the base-plate 4 is formed as a separate member, the collar 6 is formed by turning over the upper end of the shank 7. In a further modification, Fig. 7, the collar 6 is formed with a perpheral extension 10.
