Abstract

274,827. Carr Fastener Co., (Assignees of Carr, F. S.). July 23, 1926, [Convention date]. Press-button fasteners. - A snap fastening comprises a stud member with head 1, neck 2, stem 3 and base 4, shown as secured to the woodwork 5 of a motor vehicle by a screw 6, and a socket member which is slotted to provide resilient fingers 13 with rounded ends adapted to snap into the neck 2 of the stud. The walls of the socket are spaced from the stud to allow tilting in any direction during removal from the stud. The socket is passed through the fabric 9 of the curtain with the base flange 7 in contact with one. surface, and is held by a plate 8 'bearing against the other surface of the fabric and secured by tongues 10 passed through the fabric and slots 11 in the base 7, and bent over. The plate has an aperture surrounding the fingers 13 so as to allow outward movement of the fingers, but limiting the movement so as to permit permanent deformation in unfastening the device.
