Abstract

425,082. Sanitary traps. LOMAS, P. V., 101, Elspeth Road, North Side, Clapham Common, London. June 4, 1934, No. 16649. [Class 33] An S-trap is formed with an opening in the bottom or side of its lower bend which is adapted to be closed by a cover C, Fig. 5, and washer D, the said cover being secured in place by a spring strip B engaging the cover and the upper surface of the bend. The cover may be convex, of brass, and formed with a sharp edge to bite into the washer which may be of graphited rubber. In one form, Fig. 5, the free ends of the spring B are drawn together by a bolt and fly-nut ; in another form, Fig. 6, the ends of the spring B overlap beneath the cover and have aligned apertures through which pass a screwed stud F. In other forms the strip may not extend completely around the bend and the cover may be riveted or otherwise secured thereto.
