Blowpipe burners.-A blowpipe burner comprises a casing 10 provided with passages 13, 14 extending through hollow bosses 11, 12 connected through tubes 8, 9 to preferably oxygen and acetylene gas passages 2. 3, which are preferably formed in a cast handle section 1, are connected to flexible supply tubes 6, 7, and are controlled by valves 4, 5 respectively, A hollow stem 15, having a recessed portion 25 provided with ports 26, is screwed into a screw-threaded portion 17 of the casing 10, its upper end terminating below the passage 13. A tapered flange 19 on the stem closes the lower end of the casing 10, and the upper end is closed by a flange 23 on a screw plug 22, the lower face of which terminates above the passage 13 and is preferably provided with a concave recess 24. Various types of tips 21 may be screwed on the lower end of the stem 15
